Creating Chapters in Mediasite
Chapters are markers within a Mediasite video to indicate chapters/sections or to note important video content. Inserting chapters is an effective way to “chunk” content with longer videos. If using chapters to “chunk” the content, provide an index to students below the video on the Canvas page. For questions or additional assistance, contact canvas@unthsc.edu.
- Navigate to the desired video in MyMediasite>click Edit Video. This opens the video editor in the web browser.
- Click on the timeline where you want to place a chapter (1)
- Click “n” >enter chapter/section name or other information (2).
- Chapter titles can be modified or deleted by right-clicking on the number marker at the bottom.
- When changes are made, click Save Video at the upper right. Generally, you can Save to Current.
- Navigate to the desired Canvas page and embed the video.
- Click Play, which enables the slider at the video bottom.
- You will see “notches” (1) in the video slider, indicating your chapters.
